You thought
that is a product issue but at the end you just release that is a wrong driver bits
used...
Normally,
you cannot/ not easy to recognize it either is Torx (T) or Torx Plus (IP) recess by bear
eyes when you receive piece of screws. There is not easy to recognize the
pattern if you has no knowledge of fastener. But, there is a different between
Torx and Torx Plus driver bits. Some of people will say why do they create/
invent with different type of driver bits or recesses? There is all about
product enhancement which Torx Plus (IP)recess/ driver bit is better of grip
functional if compare with Torx (T)recess/ driver bit.
Differentiation
between two types of drive bits/ recesses
Why I say “I
thought I am right” or “wrong complaining”? If there is involving product
change or new item buying without inform/ massage pass it to production operator, for example
screws with recess Torx changed to screws with recess Torx Plus. Majority operators
will use Torx drive bit to fix to screws with Torx Plus recess. And the problem
is Torx drive bit is still able to fix it for tightening. However, there is a
high risk to face a stripping issue if using wrong type of drive bit for
tightening. This is common problem highlighted from production operator.
Circumstances
here;
- Torx drive bit can be fixing to Torx Plus recess
- Torx Plus drive bit cannot be fixing to Torx recess
Similar design between Pozi VS Philips
- Pozi drive bit cannot be fixing to Philips recess
- Philips drive bit can be fixing to Pozi recess
Let see above
the picture why can be caused a stripping if we using wrong type of drive bits.
The angle of design is different to cause it not fully engagement between driver bit and recess.
Be careful
when you face stripping issue on top of recess. You might study on recess and
driver bit as matching first before highlight to other party.
